Then, when my girlfriend and I started our Sunday morning work-outs, we decided we’d celebrate when we walked a full mile by going to brunch here. So, a few weeks ago, we hit the mark and headed over for a well-earned meal and we were NOT dissappointed. Carman’s across the street from 11th District police (holla, boys! 1) It’s interactive. The components (sea salt, coconut, grapefruit & lime) come in layers with the salt on top so you have to stir it up before use. Blending the ingredients also changes the color, which, let’s face it, is just plain cool. Continue reading
This is a great dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner, for just a couple or a crowd. And you can tailor it to your liking. If you want lower fat, use egg whites. If you don’t like peppers or basil, put in something or simply leave ‘em out. Really, you can put just about anything into one of these and it’s super easy. Continue reading

Like many of you, I know about the evils of aluminum in my deodorant, but I am still torn between the natural alternatives and my beloved, unhealthy standbys. I am a big sweater. No, I am not made of wool, I have over-productive pores. And I have finally come to accept that no organic deodorant contains an antiperspirant b/c that wouldn’t be natural. It’s bad enough people have to get you two gifts for the same occasion. And, newsflash: a lot of wedding showers are torturous affairs with stupid games where a bunch of women have to make a dress out of toilet paper. Do I look like Monique Lhuillier to you?
