Well, The Philadelphia Collection 2011 is officially over. I hope I did justice in covering all of the events here and on my new blog for Metro Philly, Fabulous in Philadelphia. TPC ended with a bang on Sat. at the Philadelphia Fashion Week Couture runway show. A number of designers were featured, including D’Marsh Couture Women, Marcia Ganen, Veronica Couture, Amaresinh, Autumlin, Clarenz Couture, Designs by Irena, Faithful by Michael Thomas and Celestino Couture. The standout for me, though, was English Clientele.
English Clientele is a high end, made-to-order clothing line launched in 2006 by fashion designer Mike Sam. Inspired by fashions of the 1940s, it’s edgy and contemporary, and caters to every aspect of the modern woman’s life, from work, to home, to special events. English Clientele is a favorite among young Hollywood starlets, and has been worn by Tichina Arnold, Emma Roberts, Ashley Tisdale, and Carrie Underwood. Romi Dames of Hannah Montana has been seen in English Clientele’s corset dresses on the red carpet. According to the company’s website, she believes he’s a genius. I’d be inclined to agree.
The Spring/Summer 2012 line included menswear trends with a feminine twist. Too bad we have to get all the way through fall and winter to wear them.
Congratulation to all the designers who participated in this weekend’s shows!
