I know liquid and insta-foaming soaps are easy to use and many would argue less messy than the old-school bar version. But increasing evidence shows that the crazy amounts of chemicals these products contain may have negative side-effects that outweigh their ease-of-use benefits.
I recently picked-up a bar of Hugo Naturals artisan soap at Andre Richard Salon and switched it out for the liquid hand soap that usually occupies a regular spot at our bathroom sink. While my three-year old niece was confused by the swap, I’ve been really pleased. Not only is the bar soap beautiful to behold, it’s made from food-grade quality ingredients. You’ll never see parabens, phenoxyethanol, sulfates, propylene glycol, petroleum products, silicones, phthalates, synthetic surfectants, artificial colors or fragrances in their products.
The people behind Hugo naturals believe that what you put on your body is just as important as what you put into it. They’re vegan soaps are made from 100% natural vegetable-derived glycerin, pure essential oils like Jojoba, sweet almond and coconut and nutrition-quality vitamin E. Pure fruit, floral and herbal extracts are added to create one-of-a-kind fragrance combinations. The result is a product that leaves my hands feeling clean and soft, but not sticky or syrupy smelling.
Sometimes hard is better than easy (that’s what she said).
